Currently, I'm pregnant and just got offered a job with Labcorp as a specimen accessioner for $13.82, permanently, plus mandatory overtime which is the only part that kinda sucks. The hours are from 6pm-to2:30am but since I'm going to be doing OT, I might get out like at 5am. Its Monday through Friday. I disclosed my pregnancy only after I got an offer and they are ok with it and will accomadate me even though I'd be working there less than one year so I won't be allowed for maternity leave by law called, FLMA but overall they said they can still give me time off. I would be collecting specimens and putting data entry and it's high volume production but it sounds more fun/easier than what I'm going to be doing in my second job.
Job number two just called with an offer through a temp agency I applied at. This job is not permanent but temporary. A 5 month contract. You would think this is better since I'm pregnant and all and can take a break after the 5 months is up since it's only temp but I won't have job security since it's not "permanent" at least not yet, but I already spoke to labcorp and disclosed my pregnancy and they are willing to work around it and give me my job back when I return. This job is Monday through Friday 9am to 6pm no OT. Pay rate $15.hr the company is a health insurance company called AvMed. This job means I would be receiving calls from doctors offices to settle and pay claims for patients seen at their office who use Avmed insurance. The interviewer told me if they like me and a position is open, I can apply after the contract is up and see if I get it. I would be employed though, for now, through the employment agency i applied through for this job first.
And both are sit down at a desk type jobs.
How can I choose ? I hate having the decision put on me. Sometimes I wish the second job never chose me so I wont be in this situation.
