Hello I have a couple newbie questions

-When applying for jobs do I just send a cover letter and resume as two PDF's to whatever email is provided in the posting?

-I don't have a Linkedin (or enough schooling to) so I just have been googling "jobs in ___" and it pulls up many it is very nice and easy to understand. However I was wondering if you knew any other good sites to search that let me just email a cover letter and resume without making a special account?
