Etiquette for networking response email

I reached out to an alumnus from my college who is a CEO at a large company where I recently applied. I asked him if I could talk to him about his company, and he responded immediately, cc'ed his secretary, and said he'd be happy to and his secretary would set it up. Do I respond to this email just thanking him? Do I respond with my availability, or do I wait for the secretary to respond? How long should I wait? It has been 24 hours since his response and I have not heard from the secretary yet. I'm sure it is a hot job, so I would like to talk to him sooner rather than later. Thank you!
