For the last 3-4 months I've started doing work that is pretty far off from what my job title entails, and is not something that I want to do in the future. I've never been a person to say, "I'm not doing it because that's not my job", but I feel like I'm being taken advantage of.
It's gotten to the point where I'm working longer days than others and have more responsibilities/ accountability attached to these extra functions. I've talked to upper management about moving out of my current role into something more aligned with what I went to school for and they are very supportive of it.
So should I just let it go and stick it out because it might look good to management and might accelerate a promotion?
Or should I go in and ask that I be fairly compensated for this additional work I'm taking on?
