What is a fair salary?

I have a position for a district director overseeing a number of childcare centers next week. I currently have a similar job on a smaller scale. I also work for a small family owned company and it’s the only company I’ve worked for in this field. I have no idea if what I’m currently making is fair and therefore have no clue what a fair salary for this new position would be. Any tips on how to find out? I seem to be able to find plenty of salaries for directors of childcare centers but nothing after you get high up.
