I apologize this is going to be long. A bit about my self. I have a psychology degree. My first job out of college was as a recruiter I was there 1 y 9 month. I hated it. I started my new job last month. During the interview I stated I was looking for 38,000. She said that the position was hourly and that it was roughly 18 an hour. And she mentioned that the hours were m-Thur 9-6 and Friday’s 9- 2. When I got the offer she said we’re going to pay you $19 an hour a little over what you asked for. I was estatic. I hated my old job and this job is the HR job i had been seeking for the longest. I took the job. I never took into consideration that the hours were only going to be 37 hours (I don’t take a lunch on fridays since I leave at two). But we leave the office 30 min early everyday. Sometimes even 50min early. So now I’m only working 34 or 35 hours a week. At 19 and hour I’m only going to make 34,500. Which is 3,500 less that what I asked for. I started taking only 30 min lunch instead of the full hour. Today my manager (the director of HR) told me “make sure to take your full hour. You deserve it” idk how to mention how I’m not happy with the hours I’m working. I don’t want to ask for a raise. If I could come in 30 min earlier I would. I have no other complaints with this job. I’m finally in the hr field. I’m was making 28k at my old job. So I am making more money. Idk how to bring it up, if I should even bring it up. Any advise please.
