Can you ask if you got the job at end of interview?

I’m fairly certain that most interviewers have already made their mind up by the end of the interview.

Can you be straight up and say “let’s cut to the chase, did I get the job or not?”

Or is that improper. I just hate being in limbo for a week or more when I could find out sooner.
