Graduated with a Bach degree in Healthcare Management in '17, got my first job with the organization around 7 months ago (was taking some time off and working pizza before that) but had a bunch of credits worth of internship experience through college.
Was working Registration Float job with a HC organization for 4 months, got turned down for first promotion I applied for (9 month employment rule) but came to me about an opening as a EHR Specialist in October. Due to some conflicts took 3 months to fully transition over but I started this week and got my official contract today.
I am getting a raise from $13+1 to $15 which feels kind of small for the changes in expected tasks I'm taking on (checking in patients / pre reg with a very low skill ceiling vs. understanding the organization's hc system and working on team projects to improve it).
The requirement for this position is an Associate's degree and their stated reason for my pay being that rate is due to my lack of experience but the potential for increases based on my performance in this role.
Not a big deal overall, I know this'll help set me up for my career long term just feel a little conflicted as this is my first "real deal" feeling job and don't want to sell myself short so figured you smart folks could give your opinions. Thanks!
