Have you ever walked away from a job with nothing lined up?

I'm incredibly burnt out at my current job and it's taking a toll on my physical and mental health. My partner thinks I should just walk away and focus on applying to jobs (hard to do working 60h/week) but I'm afraid it will hurt my job prospects that I couldn't 'tough it out' a little longer. What are your experiences? For context I'm in middle management and hoping to leave my industry for something else.
