I applied for a job the Friday before Christmas (the afternoon). I did not hear back until the 27th because no one had worked in the office Xmas eve through the 26th (sweet gig!). Got an email to set up an phone interview which we scheduled for the following day Friday the 28th. Went well, she needed to just pass along the information to see if the department manager wants to set up in person interview.
My timing is terrible because then it was the weekend and again no one had to work on NYE or NYD.
I was hoping to hear back today. She had said she would “follow up with the next steps” which doesn’t immediately sound like a rejection.
Should I follow up with an email tomorrow to check in? I worry about being annoying and risking an interview. This job would just really mean a lot to me to help me get out of my current situation. I was thinking of following up tomorrow after lunch. Would this be annoying?
