I have recently received an offer of employment for an upcoming internship. The letter states that I will get an email from a background screening company and that I must perform the drug screen within two business days of receiving the email.
The internship is in the city in which I go to college, but I am soon going back to my home city for winter break.
When do employers usually make you do the drug screening test? If I am in my home city, will there be a place there where I can do the test, or does it have to be at the place where I will be working? I am worried that I will have to fly back to perform the drug screening if they email me while in my home city.
Any insight is appreciated as I am new to the workforce and do not know much about this process. Thanks.
