My commute is too expensive. How can I reduce costs?

I live in an area of the suburbs with poor bus coverage. My work is in the city and I prefer to take the bus there, as I don't have a car. Since my job starts later in the day (around 4-5 pm), coordinating with other people to get to the bus station is awkward. The cost of lyft + bus fare makes getting to and from my work very expensive ($15/day) considering my part-time wages ($17.60/hr).

I definitely want to move out of my parents' place, but am having trouble finding the money to do that right now.
