Is it annoying to ask the same person for multiple letters of reference?

I'm a college student, and I recently had an interview for a research position. Today the company emailed me back asking for two letters of reference. While I'm glad to have gotten to this step, I did think that it was kind of strange for them to ask for letters specifically, and not just for their contact information. I had references lined up, but I hadn't had anyone write anything because I wasn't expecting to need it.

I had asked two professors that I worked with for letters of recommendation for a different program about two weeks ago, so I'm worried about being a bother if I ask for another one, especially at such short notice (and with it being the end of the semester, which is busy enough already). I do have other people I could ask, but I figured since they already wrote something about me and could probably reuse some of it, I would get a response faster. During my interview they had said that they wanted to make the decision before Christmas, so of course I want to get them in ASAP. I really want this job, and I don't want to ruin my changes by taking too long to respond.

Should I ask them again? And is it reasonable to expect that I'll get a few days to submit them?
