I (TEMP) will be training my replacement before I get the boot... I can jump ship or wait to get dismessed

The company I am temping for has been hiring for my title. I walked in on an interview for my position and am aware of several other interview being held. Not sure if they are not trying to hide it or not. I asked an interviewee once if he needed help finding someone and they said they where there to interview for my position. I wished them good luck and asked what they do now.. they are applying to a job they are overqualified for.

I then find out I am going to train a person to do my position. I was told the person I am supposed to train is also getting trained by another person but I think this is being done to keep me from jumping ship before they are ready. I was able to obtain information from the person I would be training about their new title, my current title, and their start date / the day I start training them. It is very awkward being forced to train my replacement and everyone being so candid about it (not sure if the guy I am training knows that he is going to replace me or that they are interviewing external candidates for the position).

If I leave the company is screwed as it would be short staffed for a whole week....others can probably do my job but it would take several people several additional hours to learn and complete my tasks without causing disruption the day to day operations of the business. I have been in a similar position before in this minimally staffed environment but I stuck it out as I was in no position to leave. I am also trying not to be vengeful or let my pride dictate what I do, although it is tempting to quit on them at this particular moment.

My only option is to get another temp position and restart as a temp elsewhere. If I quit I won't get fired and I will be able to re-locate without paying rent. Worst case scenario is I get laid off right after I pay rent which happens to be a week after I start training the new fellow. Also, this will happen during the holidays so I won't be able to find a job immediate. This would put me in a situation where I will be down at least 500 dollars.

Should I hold out or jump ship to another temp position within the agency? I had an interview for a job I was passionate about but they took me jumping ship from my current position of 3 months negatively. I tell them its only temporary and what I do does not match with the what was on the job description at time of hire. I am afraid I have very limited options for being a temp and going from temp to temp position will be viewed negatively.
