Explaining desire to change discipline

I'm in my last year of university and applying to jobs. I am thinking about how my background is entirely in teaching and training to be a teacher, and I've since changed my mind (the reason is that I am not very good at it, and I didn't like the work-life balance, but I can't tell them that!) And how to explain my desire to change path in a reasonable way.

I can certainly take transferable skills from my previous experiences to apply to different disciplines, but I do worry that I will be asked why I didn't continue to pursue teaching when my only experiemce and is very much around that.
