Hello everyone,
I am trying to get an internship in anything worthwhile related to Economics, Finance, or Computer Science this summer. I applied for this finance internship and it had an online timed test with 50 questions and 15 minutes. They said they didn't expect me to finish them all, and stated calculators and online resources are forbidden.
So I decided not to use a calculator - I guess I liked the challenge lol. The questions involved a lot of pattern recognition using shapes and letters, english "SAT-like" comparisons questions, and some quick math. It kind of felt like an IQ test.
Now after having only completed around 30/50 questions, I want to know: what are their expectations from these kinds of tests and how are my chances affected by someone else who cheated?
How seriously should I take these tests on other applications as well?
