Just finished trade school and terrified/anxious of entering the job market.

First post here, so hi everyone.

I recently graduated from a trade school for HVAC and I feel like I honestly didn't learn much, if anything, from the class. A lot of the machinery and technicalities still make no sense to me, yet somehow the school deemed me more than prepared enough to graduate and head out. With my first loan over the horizon at the end of the grace period, I'm absolutely terrified that I'll be taken on as an apprentice and be shortly fired for incompetence until I'm unable to find employment.

If anyone in the industry can tell me what you usually expect from apprentices. Not even specifically HVAC, just trades. What do you expect your apprentices to know? How much autonomy do they receive? Is it bad if they're a bit excessive with questions to the point of seeming clueless?

Thanks in advance, reddit.
