Been looking for a Career change and apply for things I’m not qualified for because I feel I can do them well. Yet when someone contacts me for an interview I feel like it’s a scam.

I’ve been looking for office work or in house sales. I’ve been in the customer service industry for more than 20 years. Then had to have surgery on my foot and still am unable to stand for long shifts like most of those jobs entail so I am trying to switch gears. I have worked with computers since before Windows, and am well versed in all the Office software yet have never worked where it was prevalent. I’ve noticed in my area (Ocean Springs MS) they seem to only hire woman to do receptionists work, and the job boards here are riddled with non-jobs like work from home making 100k a year. So when a company contacts me really fast and wants to meet I automatically assume it’s a scam. I’ve only been contacted through email too and what are obviously false numbers. Like my area code 228-000-0000. I think it’s sad and wish that job sites were more vetted.
