Anybody out there have a job or an experience where they had a referral from an internal employee? Is the process any faster or have better chances?

Looking at a position in pharmaceutical research. I have no experience but transferable skills, a BA in Bio, and a referral and ref. Letter from an internal employee that’s pretty decent rank in the company. Curious if my application will get a better push through to a hiring manager.

Wrote a killer cover letter and resume with a ton of buzzwords from the actual description too.
