Wondering how good my chances are this far along in the interview process/what could you do to eff it up at this point?
I applied for a job a few months back and was only recently contacted for the interview. (It is a very small company so I wondered if they hired someone else who didn't work out and I was high up next in line.)
I have a phone screening with a few pre-written questions designed to double check my relevant experience. Check. In person interview with HR and person who would be direct supervisor. Check. (Felt pretty confident I aced the interview, prepared well and was personable and charming.) Follow up email asking for samples of my work. Invitation to meet with CEO/president, check.
Although I am doing some research to see how common this is/why this step is necessary (so I do get it) I also kind of don't know what else they want from me or what they are looking to get out of this interview. I will also need to complete some sort of assignment they are going to give to me at this point, I assume to check whether I am actually capable of doing the work (although the materials they requested from me are an example of my skills).
What else do they want from me and what could I do that would make them change their mind if they were leaning toward giving me an offer?
