So today I noticed that the company that I’m currently working for the last 5 months posted a role with a similar responsibilities to the ones on my current position. Should I assume that I will be fire in the upcoming weeks?

And what approach should I take if that’s the case? Should I confront my manager about my performance and not the job posting or should I ride it out and wait till I get the axe. I’m currently looking for other roles since that job wasn’t my first choice and I actually have a job interview at another firm which currently makes it even more of a priority for me to do well if im going to get the axe.
