I’ve been working at a very small ad agency for six months. It’s my first job out of college so I’m still learning the ins and outs. I am a social media coordinator for our clients.
Today my boss sat me down and said I’m too quiet, I don’t seem happy, I don’t burst with excitement during meetings and it seems like I have a very low passion. I’m a very introverted, independent work with a lot of love for what I do, so I was a little lost. My clients are happy with what I’m doing. Their engagement has increased on social media platforms since I started.
I’m always finding ideas for my clients’ platforms and keeping up with trends, and I will admit I am recluse and hide at my desk. He also found it an issue that I leave right at 5:30 (which is the end of my shift). I told him I appreciate the feedback. I have depression but I’ve been taking medication and going to therapy for over a year so that’s helped a lot. I will admit I’ve been in a funk lately but I didn’t want to tell him that.
I’m just not sure what to do with this information. I thought I was doing a good job. Any suggestions?
