I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I receive a lot of emails from recruiters and this is the first time I have ever seen one say the position was for one gender. It was highlighted as well. Am I wrong or isn't this illegal?
Specific wording was:
Looking for Female consultant
This was for a Software Engineer role in California. I'm currently in Washington and want to move to California, but not actually interested in this role due to it just be a contract and not a direct hire.
Reading online at EEOC it seems to be about being discriminated against. Since I don't want to apply to this position is that some how not applicable?
If it is illegal, how do I report this? Do I just use their "File a Charge" link even though I am not applying for the job?
