New GM position, considering future options.

I have experience serving and bartending and have not completed my degree. I got lucky and landed a GM position at a fast food chain. It's not something I want to do longer than a year or two but I recognize that it can further my career. If I do not move up in the company quickly enough then I was wondering what options are suggested for a better job with better pay with my experience. I may get my associates degree in business but am unsure so I'd appreciate suggestions both with and without the degree. Thanks!
