My job is alright, pay is okay, I get benefits, and my bosses are hands-off, no micromanagement or anything like that. But man, is it boring. It's supposedly a "technical writing" job but the writing I do is very basic. A huge bulk of it is procdeural data entry type stuff, like keeping a list of what dates documents where updated. I feel guilty complaining, but the days are just such a drag. I'm getting to a point where I dread going, where I get depressed on Sunday nights. I feel as though the job requires so little brain power, is so unchallenging, that I feel my brain is experiencing atrophy. So I'm thinking about leaving. I have worked here about a year and a half, is that too little time to start looking for a new job? I've never been in a position where I'm in one job and I'm looking for another so I feel lost as to what I should do, or if I should wait it out so that I don't look like a job hopper on my resume. I'm also not sure what to tell them when they ask "why are you looking for another job?" I know there are ways to phrase things like "I'm looking for a new challenge" or something but that question always gets me. for people who have gotten a job while employed what did you say when asking that question?
