If an interviewer says they'll get back to you within a few days and they don't, does it always mean you didn't get the job?

my interview was monday...i feel like it can't necessarily be a bad sign all the time but i've heard that, gotten no response, and have yet to get a job, so ..... this was my second interview with the company, if that matters.

also i just realized if you ask if you'll hear either way (rejected or progressing) they're never going to say no lmao. it's just so rude when they don't do that, especially after an in-person :(

i know i should assume i don't have the job until i actually have it, but i was just so proud of my interview/feedback and want the job a ton, so i can't stop thinking about hearing back. job posting also isn't up anymore
