I've been doing security for the past 3 years. I recently got an IT certification and passed phase 1 of an interview for an IT job. They said if I pass the second interview, I'll get the job. They have not contacted me on when the second interview will be.
However, I also recently interviewed for another security job that pays $10 more than my current security job and they already gave me a job offer.
Both of these jobs will pay the same amount, but I don't want to be a security guard my entire life which is why I got my IT certification in the first place. I'm trying to transition into IT, but I don't want to lose out making more money by declining the security job offer.
What should I do? Some people are saying to take the security job and leave if I get the IT job, it seems to make the most sense, but I'll probably burn my bridge with the security company.
