What is going to a career fair like and what did you do to prepare? Did it make a difference?

I’ll be receiving my bachelors degree in December but have only had one internship related to my major thus far due to the amount of homework I’ve received and my annoying need to always get As (causing no spare time). Today is my university’s big career fair and I’ve decided to not attend; I can’t tell if this was wise or not. The major booth I wanted to hit was the FBIs. There are a few others related to criminal justice but I know nothing about them. I don’t have any experience or special skills that set me aside from others. I don’t know as much as I’d like to know about the FBI. I read online and watched some videos and it seems as though being prepared and confident is key. I am neither currently. I decided to hold off on this career fair and go to another one (in May) once I’ve improved myself a bit. I’m going to start applying for internships and looking into what working in the FBI can offer me as well as what I can offer them. Is not going today the right move? For those who have gone to career fairs in college, what did you think of them and did you prepare? If so, do you think it actually made a difference? Please let me know because I feel bad about not going.
