So I’m 17, currently doing a retail apprenticeship and it’s not bad. But I don’t want to be doing this all my life. I’m not an A* student but I like to use my head and really have a drive to do the best job I can. I just don’t feel fulfilled in retail and while the job itself is pretty laid back, i just always feel like I could be doing something better.
There’s no option to move up in this job for a while as I’m an apprentice so they can’t change my hours, job role etc. The manager even spoke to me about leaving the apprenticeship and getting hired like everyone else, but as I’m 17 UK law states i have to be in some form of education. College is also not an option, won’t get into details but can’t go back to my local college to study anything.
I’m not looking for answers here, just options or ideas really. What could I pursue once I finish this in a years time which isn’t retail?
