I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question, but I thought I might try.
I'm a third-year student at one of the most esteemed Translation&Interpreting schools in Europe. I am trained in translating (and to a lesser degree, interpreting) towards and from english, russian, german, italian and slovene.
I'm about to finish my Balchelor's, but i'm not really interested in pursuing a Translation or Interpreting career after I finish, because I realized while doing an internship at a local immigration office that I find the work "limiting". With that I mean that, even though i have huge respect for the practice, I would like to do more for the client than "just" translating words. It's interesting and i'm good at it, but I think i'm past it.
I think i'd like to work for a non-profit of some sort (example: i've worked with migrants before and i've enjoyed it), but i'm also interested in communication and marketing.
Is it realistic for me, a student of primarily languages and linguistics, to pursue a master's degree in one of the two fields? Can my profile be marketable if I do that?
