I've been offered a couple of field service jobs, Its been 3 years since my last field service gig and my credit is gotten worse. A little back story I went to Devry and racked up a lot of student debt and I was paying on time for a couple of years, until my wife was diagnosed with cancer. My private loan providers were not working with me so I decided to get a lawyer to help me re negotiate my payments. During this process I have not made any payments under advise from my lawyers. Due has not done wonders for my credit score since I would be going into field service they will be providing me a credit card for my travel expenses. Would my bad credit score prevent me from obtaining a company credit card? and if it does prevent me from getting one, would you recommend me doing ? Just as a side note I do not own a single credit card that would be able to use instead.
Any suggestions on what I should do would be great. I have heard of jobs running a credit check on you before getting hired, but I've received an offer letter so I don't believe they haven't run one on me. I have time to accept the offer I've been weighing things out on either staying at my current job or change fields.
