Hello all & thank you for taking the time to read this. (Apologies for grammer)
I am 24 & have a very cushy role atm in accounts on a relatively high end salary for my qualifications (£30k) and have aims of a higher role over the next few years.
Recently I have been told by my boss that some of the other heads would like me to work for them (not in those words, I would still have to apply & interview etc but gave him a strong indication the role would be mine).
The catch is that it is a 9 month project on the other side of the world in the UAE for 2 weeks then in Korea for 2 weeks at a time, flying back & forth for about 9 months. There would be no guarantee of getting my current role back at the end of the project however I will probably stand pretty to apply will if any roles came up at the time; or the possibility of a permanent role opening up out in the UAE.
This seems like once in a life time opportunity & would catapult me almost directly into my ideal role.
Expat life seems pretty good, but the thought of moving away alone is extremely daunting, also giving up family & friends & my girlfriend of 14 months (who is being supportive while my brain is trying to make sense of what to do).
Please any advice or personal experience would be appreciated.
