Made it to a 4th interview (after being told the 3rd was the final round) with the executive director, and I worry I blew it.
This job application has put me through the ringer. Online app plus resume and cover letter. They liked that, so then asked for a writing sample. They liked that so then got a 30-min phone interview (with a panel); that went well so got asked to do a 1 hour zoom interview with a panel; that went well so I was invited to do a large writing exercise and meet for a "final interview" with the same panel plus another member of leadership staff. That too went well. That was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. The department director said she'd try to have an answer for me the next day or the Tuesday after the holiday. The next day I got a call that they want me to do a 4th, 15-min interview with the ED and department director the following week. That was Wednesday. Well, it didn't go great, and now I think I might have blown it after all this work. Did I mention I get extreme anxiety before interviews? This whole process has been emotionally exhausting. I don't think employers realize the toll this kind of process takes on a person. Also, I currently have a job (thank goodness) so figuring out how to take time off for all these interviews has been tricky. I think this lengthy process is a little off the rails. Give me a break!
