Context - I resigned from a company awhile ago (on good terms) and then decided to apply to a newly posted position that interested me.
I got a call from the hiring manager who I had spoken with before and interviewed successfully before I left, explaining I was her top pick for the role - asked me when I would like to start, ect. They then said they would just need to confirm with their manager what else they needed to do before hiring me on as an external candidate.
I later had a follow up call from them explaining that they needed to interview other candidates before moving forward, and they would follow up.
Has anyone ever been in a situation like this? How did it go?
It did throw me off a bit, but I am confident as they said that I’m the top candidate, and they were previously going to offer me a role before I resigned.
