A record number of Americans are quitting their jobs in 2021. How has it affected your place of employment? Have you had a lot of turnover in the last year? Are you one of those who has quit?
I work for a clinic and at my company, a lot of people have left this year. We have always had some turnover since I started five years ago, but I don’t think it has been as bad as it has been in 2021. When I first started at the place in 2016 there was a lot of people who quit, but it was mostly limited to my department because our manager wasn’t a very good boss (she was reassigned to a different position and things stabilized).
But now in 2021 so many people have left. There are a variety of reasons. Some have moved out of the area due to a spouse relocating or to be closer to family. Another left due to a change in her life (divorced and empty nester and wanted to travel). Others were burned out. A lot of the people who left were supervisors which I thought was interesting. We are also having trouble finding replacements which sucks.
Anyway, have you guys been affected? Or has the great resignation not hit your workplace? Have you considered changing jobs? Why?
