I got an email today to schedule a phone interview next week for a job. I'm on all vacation next week for Thanksgiving though and I didn't want the hassle of having to do the interview from my parents' house, so I replied that next week wouldn't work and asked to do the week after. They countered by asking if I can do this Friday.
Now, I can technically do this Friday (it's a remote day for me at my current job and I'm never busy on Fridays) but would I be crazy if I said no and insisted on the week after Thanksgiving? My reasoning is that I don't want to have to stress myself preparing for this tomorrow, especially since it's a first interview and the email makes it seem like a lot of people are at this stage. I think about how I might rush to do this interview, only to have it not go well and/or never hear from the company again.
It seems like a good job and one I'm qualified for, but nothing groundbreaking, nor am I desperate.
