When interviewing for a position, how do you go about asking for more then the top pay figure in the job posting?
I have a final interview tomorrow for a position that pays $85,000-$90,000. I want to ask them to go to $95,000 based on my experience in the field.
I was thinking of bringing up the following but I am not sure what would be valuable to bring up.
-Multiple recognitions for outstanding service with the company -also me being recognized for bringing new and innovative processes to my clients in how they handle their business
-My history of going above and beyond in delivery of requested jobs/tasks. Ie, fulfilling the request and then doing more for the client then they requested.
-The fact that the client increased the pay for my current role by 25% to bring me into it.
I've never asked for this type of increase before so I don't know how to present my case, what might come off as "too boastful" or what could kill the deal if I am offered the role.
