I started working at this fast food joint about 4 months ago now. I left my longtime job of 2.5ish years for it. It started out fine, made a great summer job. Not the best job but not bad either, I feel okay about it. It's slowly getting worse though and now I'm wondering if I should consider leaving.
Since I started a handful of others quit and to put it simply, we're very understaffed. My hours have literally doubled. I'm working 30+ hours a week as a high school student. I never get weekends off, I feel burnt out a lot. The co-workers are alright people, but I also feel I really don't "fit in" if that makes sense. Also, I'm the lowest paid person there, literally everyone makes more than me (including a guy who I got hired the same time as) I feel that especially alongside school it's just not worth working these long shitty hours for barely any pay ($8 an hr...)
But I also have contradicting thoughts. Maybe i should just suck it up? Money isn't an issue, i have plenty saved and also many other job options around me, so... Should I hand in my notice and quit or what? And if I do quit, how should I go about explaining to my manager? Im typically a shy person lol
