I started a new job this year as an entry-level civil engineer. I just graduated with my masters degree and am one of several entry level employees. I know that in the industry, you generally get offered a pretty low rate to start (or at least that has been the experience of my friends) and get bumped up soon after being hired. I feel that I have done a pretty good job this year, and often perform better than the other entry-level engineers and exceed my bosses expectations (not trying to brag/be too self-righteous).
Do you think I should expect a raise this year during annual reviews? I have only worked there for 7-8 months. If so, how should it compare to those of my colleagues?
I ultimately want to make sure that there are no red flags, but also don’t want to expect too much.
TLDR How much of a raise, if at all, should I get for my first year with a new company at the entry level?
