So I’m leaving a sketchy company that only pays in mailed checks. I am receiving my official offer letter for my new job early next week, but I have a problem.
My current company pays with mailed check only once a month. The check comes on the 19th of each month. I’m not sure why they issue checks to go out for hours not yet worked, but that’s what they do.
I’m planning on leaving before the end of the month (it’s that bad), and I’ve only been there for 2 weeks so i don’t think it will be the most amicable situation. How do I leave properly and make sure they get the money back for the hours I haven’t worked yet?
This company is so sketch I’m worried about the check bouncing, so I wanted to actually allow them to send me the check for the whole month, cash it, and then maybe write them a cashiers check for my remaining hours and mail it back?
Is there a way they could fuck me over here?
Thanks!
