Hey everyone, graduated from college over one year ago. I've applied for several jobs, possibly hundreds of entry level positions. Here's what happened. Amongst several rejection letters, I got one interview with a sketchy sales company, with a 100% commission-based salary. No thanks. I got an interview with Starbucks, for its lowest paid "barista" position. I worked there for about two months and hated it, the inexcusably low pay was not worth what I had to endure on a daily basis. I never made nearly enough to support myself financially. Then, several more rejection letters and ignored applications. And here I am, over a year later and still unemployed. I'm tired of still living with my parents and relying on them for money. I truly want to be independent and self-sufficient. This has led to me becoming very desperate for a job.
I FINALLY managed to get an interview with a reputable company, for a job with a good salary that will most definitely support me financially. It's in a city I really want to live in and I really like the overall job itself. However, I'm nervous as hell. I do have a good track record with interviews, as I can recall I've only been rejected for two positions after the interview, and offered a job for the other 10 or so jobs that I've interviewed for.
However, I've never interviewed for a job with this competitive of a salary before. As I said, I'm very nervous. I don't want to screw it up. Some of the questions in interviews really catch me off guard and I have a hard time answering them. I struggle talking about myself in any sort of context. Any interview advice is MUCH appreciated. Thank you.
