Does stating you have a disability on a job app have any bearing on your selection?

Does stating you have a disability on a job app have any bearing on your selection?

I qualify as disabled on 2 of the categories that have federal protection for jobs. They are not visible disabilities, One is Renal failure and the other is Severe depression, I never know if I should volunteer that information by checking that box or lie and say I don't or "prefer not to say"
