Any hope of finding a learning on the job position for programming?

I'm going to school full time for software engineering and was wondering if there's any hope of learning on the job and if anyone knows of anything in programming or a remote position? I would like more time in the day to focus on school than my current job/commute provides but still need to provide for myself and family while completing my degree. I currently make $35k a year and am just looking for something degree related or remote that could replace that salary or close to it and provide me more time in the day. I lose 2 hours a day commuting and work 8:30-5:30 living in middle of nowhere Illinois. Any advice or leads? Thank you.
