So I recently applied for a sales position at a global company and I made it to the final round but didn’t get the position. After getting rejected I kept applying elsewhere but I saw a similar position from the same company posted as well as the original position I applied for. I figured “what’s the worst that could happen” also in sales I think they would like the persistence. I let the recruiter I was working with know that I applied for this other job but they never responded even though they said “let’s keep in touch in case something opens that is a good fit” (sarcasm, I am aware that was automated). I was really excited about the previous opportunity and really would love to work at this company. I am looking for advice of what next steps to take.
Mainly I am wondering if I should reach out to a different recruiter who I found on LinkedIn who is a common connection and say “Hey I applied for this role and I was wondering if we could schedule some time to talk about it?” Or would this do nothing/be a bad move.
