As the title eludes, space exploration and science are a passion of mine. I LOVE hearing about the latest discoveries and seeing all of the new space technologies being developed. I want to spend the rest of my life and life's work on this collective human endeavor. I personally feel that space is where humanity's destiny lies (if we can stave off our own extinction).
I have a degree in Construction Engineering Management with 8 years of Project Management experience within the commercial construction sector. I like construction but I dont love it. I've given it a good try to make it work for me but, there are a few things with the industry that don't sit well with me. The majority of industry I've seen so far is stuck in the past. Past systems, past techniques, past employee management, past materials, etc. 4 separate companies in the industry from big to small and even a residential construction gig. The industry is slow to change and I don't see it improving any time soon. I do love seeing quality construction and architectural marvels though. As well as doing advanced level home improvement projects on my home. I did thought about going the small business route and be the "Anti-General Contractor" model. But, I'm not sure that my dreams are that realistic. Still chewing on that.
I would just like to know if anyone has any feedback on my dreams. I there anyone out there that is in thebindustry, maybe not necessarily NASA, who can help point me in the right direction? I don't want to go back to school unless I absolutely have to and I've exhausted all other options. Not interested in the student debt aspect. I'm hoping my current degree and experience can help get me into the industry door. I know I can crush it if I can just get that right opportunity.
