I Found Out I Make Less Than a New Co-Worker, so I dipped.

I've been at my current company for three years. At my hiring and last review a year ago I was promised I would get more responsibilities and eventually be promoted. In July my manager hired his best friend to the department for my position. Slowly I realized I had to go to the new co-worker after I trained him for anything first. I also found out he was making $30k more than me and was being trained to become the manager. He had the same exact work experience I do, so it's not like he was hired with years and years of more experience than me. I was disappointed there were no discussions and I was left in the dark. All my reviews in the past had been positive with 5% raises. On paper everything seemed to be going well, but there were plans behind my back the entire time and I'll honestly never understand why.

I accepted an offer where I am going to be making double my current salary. Today was my last day. I held 75% of the projects and I did fuck over a few other co-workers, but I had to leave.

I learned if anything feels off, it probably is. Lesson learned.
