So I’ll preface this saying I have been stuck at my family’s market for years I am 23 next month. And I have looked at jobs for 2 months in 1 month intervals. I have experience as QA for 5 years and lab for 6 mo. All of this happens in one month( sep-oct) and I got two offers from QC specialist in food and Lab tech for clinic the QC construction I didn’t bother with as I have no interest or experience in. For Pharma and hospital lab techs I’m still waiting as they take a long long time to process due to their size.
I had about 5 interviews:
QC for construction $24 QCSM lab ops tech II for Pharma $28 Lab tech for a hospital $25 Lab tech for a clinic $24 QC specialist for food industry $28
I really wanted the clinic lab tech but the the food place was offering more and is 20 mins closer compared to the clinic which is 45 min- 1hr 30min. I really like that company and it was honestly a place I’d be happy to work in just the drive would have sucked and I know the pay is less but man it is what it is. I ended up counter offering the clinic lab for $28 and they declined I emailed them a thanks and like I said I really enjoyed the work environment so I really wanted to keep the doors open just in case.
So I start next week for $28 an hour and $42 OT I’m extremely happy it’s a short contract but probably gona be hired to perm because me and qc manager really hit it off.
