I've used the same two references for at least two years because I don't know many people These are my former bosses. One of my references was nice enough to write a reference letter recently for one of the jobs I had applied for, but I didn't end up getting the job. And this was after having asked her to write a reference letter for a previous job that I didn't get.
I feel like I'm just taking advantage of my references, but at the same time they're all I have and if I want to get a good job, I need good references. I feel like I'm just a burden on them and that they must be getting tired of having to write reference letters for an unemployable person. Makes me just want to get a job that doesn't require reference letters, but then that would mean not getting a job in my career and I'd just be shooting myself in the foot. What do I do about this?
