Ive (20s) been working at a small (<5 people) hiring firm for about 5 months now, its my first job after graduating college and its in the degree i studied for. In the beginning it wasn't bad, but thinking back on the interview i shouldve taken note of some red flags (the supervisors saying they don't take lunch, the interviewer telling me point blank that they have no benefits), but honestly I was desperate for a job at that point, so i took it.
Two of my supervisors worked closely together for the first 2 months that I was there, but then the one who was training me was let go and now I'm the one whos working closely with the other supervisor. I ended up having to do what the last supervisor was doing along with what I was hired for. On top of that my current supervisor has been basically questioning why i get so stressed out when she raises her voice and acts franticly and basically saying "im perfectly calm i have no idea why youre so stressed out!!! im not stressed i thrive under stress and you should too!!!" While its true the business has been doing better then ever because of her i simply cannot take it. Because of how things can change at the drop of a hat i find it hard to even take a break and im at my breaking point. On top of that my boss will blatantly express her anti-vax views in the office, saying its bullshit how some of our clients require it (I am also the only person still wearing a mask in the office, though i am vaccinated) This just makes me feel unsafe and kind of ridiculed since i am still wearing one?
Everyone ive talked to (including my parents) about wanting to quit has told me to stick it out and look for jobs in the meantime but honestly i get home, eat dinner, and immediately pass out. I job search over the weekend by i know it can take months to find a new job and i dont think i can handle it anymore. Honestly I'm not sure if im just whining because im not used to it but its driving me nuts. Ive been thinking about quitting every day for the past 2 weeks and i feel physically sick before i have to go in. What should I do?
