My old boss apparently said everything I did was unsatisfactory to the background check company. Now what

So I got the report for a background check back and my boss said everything I did was unsatisfactory and I was terminated for severe performance issues. Now, we didn't really get along very well but I'm surprised at this.

I was terminated but it was due to scheduling issues after covid restrictions were lifted I wanted to remain remote and kept working that way. Whatever.

Anyway, I was under the impression most employers just give dates of employment and that's it. Is this normal? Is it okay? Anything I can do about this?

I haven't heard from the company I'm going to work for yet or not working for I don't know

I guess I'm just looking for people who have had a similar experience whether you deserved it or not about your boss bad-mouthing you in a background check
